The Center Announces the
South Asia Initiative on Women and HIV/AIDS Policymaking
The Center for Women Policy Studies, in partnership with the Centre for Development and Population Activities (CEDPA) and the International Women’s Media Foundation (IWMF) will bring together influential women leaders from Bangladesh, India and Pakistan for the South Asia Initiative on Women and HIV/AIDS Policymaking in Washington, DC, December 7-10, 2009.
The South Asia Initiative is a bold new regional strategy to build long-term, sustainable cross –sector and cross-border partnerships among women Parliamentarians and Ministers, print and broadcast journalists, and women’s human rights NGO leaders to address the impact of HIV/AIDS on women and girls through public policy. This project builds on our
2008 program, which brought together women leaders from Kenya, India and Mexico.
